This chronic illness vlog finds me in April, a few days away from my 43 birthday. This day, I was having a hard time, but had to encourage myself into and staying in a positive mindset, which can be difficult when traversing hard times. However, I am encouraged, and want to encourage all of you that your current trial is only temporary.
At times we are so overwhelmed by our current circumstances that we forget that “This too shall pass”. At times we have no one around to remind us, encourage us, or speak positivity over us. But there is always you! Get in the mirror and speak, encourage, and remind yourself: This trial is temporary; this pain won’t last; it won’t be like this always; your latter is greater than your former; your best is yet to come! You are a light in the darkness!
God Loves you and so do I; Be Encouraged! Until next time remember to Cook, Eat, Enjoy, Live, and Repeat

I am a person who likes to be prepared as much as possible. I take the saying “Get ready, stay ready” to heart, especially regarding my health & wellness and family. So needless to say, I found myself having to prepare additional first aid kits for this health crisis season of my life I am currently in.
After having the Acute Pulmonary Embolism, the doctors have me on blood thinners twice a day. With blood thinner of course there is a risk of bleeding, especially from say an accident in the kitchen. And since I am always in the kitchen cooking, I figured I needed a first aid kit specifically meant to deal with extreme bleeding emergencies to complement my other first aid kits in the home and cars.
In this vlog, I share some items I purchased for my first aid kits while on the blood thinners. Items mentioned are listed below with my Amazon links; which cost you nothing but support the channel/site.
It is important to always have a basic first aid kit in your vehicles and the home. The items I feature are not the end-all-be-all, but they are what appealed to me. If you have suggestions for other items that would be a good addition to my kits or a kit in general, leave in the comments below. Until next time rember to to Cook, Eat, Enjoy, Travel, Live, and Repeat!

Friday, March 8, 2024, early evening will forever be burned into my mind. It is the day that I came so very close to death.
Right in my bathroom, I began feeling extremely ill, dizzy to the point of blacking out, and extremely short of breath. At that moment, I found out late that I experienced an acute Pulmonary Embolism. Probably the scariest medical emergency that I have ever experienced to date.
Because of that event, I have a newfound heart of gratitude. I am grateful to be here even on the days that I feel my worst because I was so close to not being here. I am grateful for every up and down; every good and bad day; every ache and pain. I am most grateful for those who surround me in love, friendship, and support.
Hey all, I hope this post finds you blessed and doing well. We are rapidly approaching the end of the year and I am just now in a place where I am slowly able to start posting Vlogs and content again. I wanted to begin to share my experiences with Chronic Illness in hopes that it will help just one person and show that people may look normal on the outside, but may be struggling with what would be considered invisible illnesses.
I will start this series with my hysterectomy journey; the surgery happening at the beginning of 2024. I share how I prepare myself, my family, and my surroundings. I also share the first few days of my recovery. If you have questions please put them in the comment section of the video and I will try my best to answer according to my experience.
One of the proudest moments for a parent is to see your child graduate college or university, walk across the stage, and receive that long-awaited diploma. But just as much as I am proud, my kid was even more so.
I want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has prayed for, spoken words of encouragement, given financially, etc to Alexis. We greatly appreciate each one of you. And thank you to friends and family, both near and far who came to the house and dropped off cards or came in to help us celebrate Alexis on this special day.
After everything was said and done, man I was spent. I could barely move the next day. But I would and will do it all over again for my babies.
Watch as family and friends come together and celebrate this monumental occasion. Class of 2023!!!!

For me, it is so important to acknowledge and celebrate the milestones and achievements of my young ones. Sometimes it’s not as extravagant of a celebration as I would like; sometimes it’s just a celebration at home with family and friends. But either way, I try to put my best foot forward, regardless of how I feel, and show my babies a good time. Let’s prep for a home celebration for a great achievement! My oldest University Graduation!

Life has definitely not been pulling punches with me and mine, but I strive to do things that bring me joy and comfort; even the little things. If that be cooking food that brings me nostalgic comfort, or studying and gain knowledge and wisdom; I am grateful for the little things and the time that I have to do them.
Thanks so much for supporting me this year. I appreciate each and every one of you.

I was excited to host my mom this summer for almost 2 months. It had been 4 years since we had seen each other in person because of the pandemic. My mom and I live far from one another, but over the past 10-plus years, I was used to her coming out to my house every summer for a month or more. But because of circumstances that we could not control, that was on hold.
Whenever my mom comes, I always like to spoil her, especially when it comes to food. Watch as I cook nostalgic food for my mom and we hang out and reminisce in the kitchen.

I really love cooking; the chopping and slicing are therapeutic, the aromas are intoxicating, and the methods are sometimes routine but comforting. However, I love my appliances that tend to make my life and the cooking process more manageable.
I recently purchased an Instant Gourmet Dutch Oven. This is the third Instant product I have purchased, and I absolutely love them all. I have been meaning to buy a traditional Cast-Iron Dutch Oven for many years, as this was a staple pot in my mom’s kitchen. Although the one I purchased looks nothing like the one my mom used, It is heavy and cooks very well with the electric heating element base or alone on the stove or in the oven.
My first use was to braise Pig Feet, it did so well, I have since used it to make cabbage and soup. If you would like to see my Unboxing, How I cooked my Pig Feet, and how they turned out, Check out the video below. Until Next time remember to: Cook, Eat, Enjoy, Travel, Live, and Repeat.
